BRIEF: Woman went missing about 2 weeks ago on South Side

Dec. 12--A 48-year-old woman left her South Shore neighborhood apartment about two weeks ago and hasn't been heard from since, police said.

Yvette Montes was last seen Nov. 30 by her building manager in the area of the 6700 block of South Oglesby Avenue. She told the manager she would not be back and asked the manager to take care of her belongings, police said.

Montes' family has not been able to contact her and is concerned for her well being, police said.

Montes is described as a white Hispanic woman, with black hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds, police said.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts should contact the Area Central Special Victims Unit at 312-747-8380.
