BRIEF: Woman robs Near North Side bank

March 02--Authorities are asking for the public's help finding a woman who robbed a Streeterville bank Tuesday morning.

The woman walked into a branch of BMO Harris, 352 E. Illinois St., about 9:10 a.m., according to the FBI's BanditTrackerChicago website.

The woman made a threatening demand for money to a teller, and when the teller balked at giving up cash, she made a similar demand of at least one other bank employee, authorities said.

The woman took cash from the bank and fled west on Illinois Street, an FBI spokesman said.

The woman is described as white and about 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10. She was wearing a gray winter coat with a fur-lined hood, a black scarf and black sunglasses.

Chicago police News Affairs had not been notified of the robbery as of about 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The FBI is offering a reward for information leading to the woman's capture. Anyone with information is asked to call the Chicago office of the FBI at 312-421-6700.
