Oct. 01--A woman who was questioned in the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend in the West Pullman neighborhood last week has been released without charges, police said Wednesday.
Joshua Dean, 21, was pronounced dead at 9:55 a.m. Friday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn after being stabbed in the chest at his home in the 12100 block of South Bishop Street, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Police said officers were called to the scene about 8:45 a.m. Friday and found a man stabbed in a domestic attack. A woman was taken into custody and questioned in the slaying, but investigation later determined that she acted in self-defense and she was released without charges, according to police.
The couple had previously been involved in more than one domestic violence incident that ended with police being called but neither of them pressing charges, police said.
