BRIEF: Woman killed in Southwest Side domestic dispute

Nov. 21--A 23-year-old woman was killed in a domestic dispute Friday in the Marquette Park neighborhood, authorities said.

Officers responded to a domestic incident at 12:10 p.m. Friday in the 6300 block of South Fairfield Avenue and found the woman unresponsive on a couch. She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center and pronounced dead, said Chicago police spokeswoman Officer Amina Greer.

The woman was identified by the Cook County medical examiner's office as Quina L. Jackson, of the block in which she died. She was pronounced dead at 1:51 p.m. Friday, the medical examiner said.

She had been fighting with her girlfriend, according to a law enforcement source, and authorities believe she may have been asphyxiated.

Police are conducting a homicide investigation. The woman's girlfriend is in custody, authorities said, though no charges have been filed.
