BRIEF: Woman injured by glass during fight in Gresham neighborhood

June 24--A woman was cut by glass during a fight Wednesday morning in Chicago's Gresham neighborhood.

The incident on the South Side happened about 8:20 a.m. in the 1600 block of West 85th Street, police said.

It was initially reported as a shooting, but Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago police spokeswoman, said the victim was involved in a fight on abandoned property and during the scuffle she was cut by glass, Sedevic said.

The woman, 32, suffered a wound to her hand and was taken in good condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

No one is in custody, and area detectives are investigating.
