BRIEF: Woman hurt in Logan Square fire

Jan. 29--One person was hurt when a fire broke out in a home early Friday morning in the Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side, authorities said.

The blaze started around 5:50 a.m. on the first floor of a two-story building in 3800 block of West Schubert Avenue, said Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Curtis Hudson.

Firefighters rescued a male and a 25-year-old woman from the second floor of the building. The male refused medical attention, and the woman suffered some smoke inhalation and was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital in good condition, Hudson said.

A total of 11 people were displaced as a result of the fire, Hudson said.

The blaze was struck out at 6:07 a.m. Its cause is still under investigation.
