Feb. 13--A woman was seriously hurt during a car crash early Saturday on Lake Shore Drive on the South Side.
About 12:22 a.m., four cars crashed in the southbound lanes of Lake Shore Drive near 47th Street, said Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago police spokesman.
The crash involved a rollover, and a 24-year-old woman was ejected from one of the vehicles, Gaines said.
The woman was taken in serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
A person was placed in custody and alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash, Gaines said.
Police blocked off Lake Shore's southbound lanes in the area for some time early Saturday as they investigated the crash.
