BRIEF: Woman hurt after car slams into bus stop, rolls over on Northwest Side

Jan. 25--A woman was hurt after a car crashed into a CTA bus stop shelter and rolled over on the Northwest Side early Sunday morning, police said.

A 22-year-old man was driving a 1997 Honda Civic eastbound in the 3600 block of West Foster Avenue around 1 a.m. when he sideswiped another vehicle, struck a bus stop and rolled over, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Amina Greer.

A 23-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Honda was injured. She was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital where her condition stabilized.

The driver and another male passenger were not hurt.

No one was at the bus stop at the time of the collision, Greer said.

The driver was cited for failure to stay in lane and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, Greer said.
