BRIEF: Woman hospitalized after Blue Island crash

Nov. 27--A woman was hospitalized early Thursday morning after her car rolled over and crashed in south suburban Blue Island, authorities said.

The crash happened about 12:30 a.m. near 127th Street and Winchester Avenue, authorities said.

Crews responded to a call of a car accident and found a sedan rolled over with a woman inside, said Calumet Park Fire Department Assistant Chief Donald Rush. The woman, who was driving the car, was the only person inside, Rush said.

The woman, whose age was not immediately known, was taken in fair condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. She was conscious and alert, fire officials said.

Authorities said it was not immediately clear what caused the crash.
