BRIEF: Woman dies month after I-57 crash

Dec. 31--A 30-year-old woman died more than a month after a rollover crash on Interstate 57, according to authorities.

Carmen McDonald, of the 6500 block of South Francisco Avenue in Chicago, was pronounced dead about 3:20 p.m. on Dec. 26.

She was the passenger in an SUV that rolled over on Interstate 57 in the southbound lanes near 138th Street about 12:50 p.m. on Nov. 22.

McDonald wasn't wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle when it rolled, according to Illinois State Police

The driver, a 58-year-old man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was cited for improper lane usage.

An autopsy determined the woman died of injuries sustained in the crash and ruled the death an accident.
