Nov. 22--A woman has died after a trolley hit her in the Loop on Saturday morning, police said.
She was in a crosswalk at Michigan Avenue and Monroe Street about 10:30 a.m. when a trolley made a right turn and ran over her, according to authorities.
The woman, 42, was in the intersection legally and had the signal to cross, authorities said.
She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead.
The driver of the trolley, a 49-year-old woman, was issued a citation for striking a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
