May 12--A woman was found beaten to death in a car in Chicago's Austin neighborhood over the weekend, according to authorities.
An autopsy determined Frankie Smith, 38, died of multiple blunt force injuries in a homicide, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Officers found her in a car in the 5200 block of West Thomas Street about 10:40 a.m. Sunday, according to police.
Smith lived in the 1100 block of North Leclaire Avenue, in the same neighborhood and a couple of blocks from where she was found.
Detectives are investigating.
