BRIEF: Woman, 95, fatally struck by dump truck in Des Plaines

Jan. 16--A 95-year-old woman shopping in Des Plaines with her 88-year-old brother was killed Thursday when she was struck by a dump truck, police said Friday.

The truck struck Lilah DePaul at 2 p.m. at 767 W. Golf Road, Des Plaines police said in a statement.

DePaul, of Prospect Heights, was walking with her brother when she was struck by a dump truck traveling west through the parking lot. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to records, the address is the Market Place Shopping Center. The 29-year-old Woodstock driver was released without being charged.
