BRIEF: Woman, 89, missing who may need medical treatment

Feb. 07--Chicago police issued a missing person alert for an 89-year-old woman who may be in need of medical treatment.

Violet Gelabert last made contact with people who know her on Friday, police said.

She was last seen near State Street in Chicago, police said. and police said she may be mentally confused and may need medical treatment.

She is described as white, with a light complexion, blond hair and blue eyes. She is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds, police said.

She was last seen wearing a gray coat, brown scarf, brown hat and white shoes with flowers.

If any finds the woman they are asked to call 911 or Central Area detectives at (312) 747-8380.
