BRIEF: Woman, 26, killed in car crash on Northwest Side

Feb. 22--A woman was killed in a traffic crash on the city's Northwest Side early Sunday.

The crash happened about 2:13 a.m. in the 2800 block of North Pulaski Road, said Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

A 26-year-old woman was driving south when she lost control and drove into oncoming traffic, Gaines said. The woman's car collided with another car just north of Pulaski and West Diversey Avenue.

The woman was unresponsive and was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said. No one else was injured.

The police Major Accidents Unit remained on the scene early Sunday investigating. Further details were not immediately available.
