May 02--An 18-year-old woman was wounded in a shooting Friday night in Skokie.
The shooting happened about 10:30 p.m. Friday in the 4700 block of Main Street in the northern suburb, according to Skokie police.
Police believe the shooting was accidental and say the 18-year-old woman knew the shooter. They said they believe the gunman lives in a "nearby community."
After the shooting, the woman was taken to an area hospital where her condition had stabilized. As of early Saturday, no one was in custody for the shooting, but police said there is no immediate danger to others.
