July 04--A Wisconsin man who crashed into a light pole Friday in Tinley Park died, officials said.
The crash happened Friday night at about 11:30 p.m. when a 48-year old man crashed into a pole on 159th Street, according to a Tinley Park press release. Scot J. Tula, of Waukesha, Wisconsin, was driving westbound on 159th Street when his car "veered" into the eastbound lane and hit the pole, officials said.
A woman in the car, from Tinley Park, was uninjured, officials said. Tula was pronounced at Palos Community Hospital.
Police said alcohol was not involved in the accident and they suspect the crash was due to a "possible medical issue," according to the release.
According to an autopsy conducted Saturday, Tula died of coronary atherosclerosis and a secondary cause of death was hypertensive cardiovascular disease. His death was ruled natural, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
