BRIEF: Wilmette house sells for $650,000 below selling price a decade ago

Aug. 12--A Wilmette house once owned by WLS-Ch. 7 sports anchor Mark Giangreco sold last month for $2.15 million.

The selling price was $650,000 below what Giangreco's ex-wife sold it for nearly a decade ago.

Giangreco and his wife at the time, Cynthia, paid $1.53 million in 1995 for the five-bedroom Tudor-style house. He deeded the house to her in 2005, and several months later, she sold it for $2.8 million.

Built in 1928, the house is in the Indian Hill Estates neighborhood and has been renovated. Features include 5 1/2 baths, nine-foot ceilings, a media room, a wine cellar, four fireplaces, two laundry rooms and an indoor pool and spa, all on a 1.1-acre parcel.

Paige Dooley of The Hudson Company had the listing.
