May 14--A 28-year-old Bolingbrook woman is accused of using her position as a teacher's aide at Willowbrook High School to have sexual relations with a 16-year-old male student in her home.
Elyse V. Snyder of the 100 block of North Ashbury Avenue is charged with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault by a person in a position of authority and two counts of criminal sexual abuse based on the more than five-year difference in their ages, according to Bolingbrook police.
Bolingbrook police responded to the high school in Villa Park after the student revealed to a school officer that he had sexual contact with the teacher's aide, authorities said.
Police booked Snyder into the Will County Adult Detention Facility Thursday on the charges, which allegedly stem from two contacts in April.
A conviction of aggravated criminal sexual assault carries a sentencing range of 4-15 years, while a conviction of criminal sexual abuse carries a sentencing range of 3-7 years.
Snyder remained in the county jail Friday afternoon in lieu of $50,000 bail.
