BRIEF: Will Ferrell spoofs Harry Caray on 'Letterman'

May 05--Will Ferrell was back in the rotation Monday as late Cubs announcer Harry Caray on the "Late Show with David Letterman."

Ferrell was in the audience dressed in a colorful tie and large glasses to portray the bombastic Caray, who died 17 years ago. Ferrell invited himself on stage with Letterman and asked him if he is retiring. "I could tell you're losing a little mustard off the heater," Ferrell said.

Letterman will host his final show May 20. Ferrell did a Caray impression on Letterman's show in March.

On Monday's episode, Ferrell credited President Barack Obama (also a guest that night) with the fall of the Berlin Wall and described the ingredients in antipasto salad. He walked off the stage to organ music and shouted "Cubs win! Cubs win!"

But the Cubs did not win Monday night. They lost 10-9 in St. Louis against the Cardinals.
