BRIEF: Wild for animals? Check out this eco-tour of Borneo

Sept. 17--Wild Planet Adventures is offering 12- and 16-day eco-tours of Borneo, home to the oldest rain forest on Earth and the center of evolution for many rare and endemic species.

Highlights include tracking by foot and electric boat to see wild orangutans, proboscis monkeys and pygmy elephants; excursions to view flying lemurs and gliding frogs; and nocturnal hikes to observe tarsiers and slow lorises, two of the world's smallest primates.

The 16-day itinerary includes a wildlife expedition into the Maliau Basin Conservation Area, a self-contained ecosystem never inhabited by humans and still largely unexplored.

Dates: Oct. 3 for 16-day tour; Oct. 4 for 12 days. Departures throughout 2016

Price: From $7,798 a person, double occupancy, for 16-day tour; $6,498 for the 12-day excursion; includes meals, accommodations and guides. International airfare not included.
