BRIEF: White Sox to retire Paul Konerko's No. 14

Jan. 15--The Chicago White Sox will honor recently retired captain Paul Konerko before their May 23 game against the Minnesota Twins at U.S. Cellular Field.

The Sox will retire Konerko's No. 14 jersey, and the first 20,000 fans who attend the game will receive a replica Konerko statue, presented by XFINITY.

Konerko will be the 11th player to have his number retired by the Sox, including Brooklyn Dodgers Hall of Fame second baseman Jackie Robinson. Konerko, a six-time American League All-Star first baseman, is the franchise leader with 4,010 total bases.

Tickets to Konerko's retirement day are available through the Sox's Pick 7 and Pick 14 ticket plans as well as in group sales packages.
