Aug. 31--Tyler Saladino singled home Alexei Ramirez in the 11th inning Sunday for his first career walk-off hit as the White Sox beat the Mariners 6-5. The teams split the four-game series as the Sox wrapped up a seven-game homestand.
On the mound
Jose Quintana went 41/3 innings, allowing four runs on nine hits. David Robertson was credited with the win after two scoreless innings of relief. Sox pitchers fanned 19 batters, tying a club record.
At the plate
Melky Cabrera had four hits and Alexei Ramirez three.
In the field
Center fielder Adam Eaton made a tumbling catch of a sinking drive off the bat of Franklin Gutierrez with the bases loaded in the fourth.
