April 27--The summary
The White Sox ended their winless drought against the Royals this season, winning the continuation of Friday night's suspended game 3-2 on Sunday. The Sox won the regularly scheduled game 5-3 behind starter John Danks and closer David Robertson.
On the mound
Robertson earned the rare daily-double with a win in the first game and a save in the second. Danks went six innings, allowing three runs on five hits. He struck out eight.
In the field
Melky Cabrera made a leaping, snow-cone catch at the wall in left to rob Eric Hosmer of an extra-base hit in the eighth with a runner in scoring position.
At the plate
Avisail Garcia delivered his first career walk-off hit with an RBI single in the ninth to conclude the suspended game. Garcia has reached safely in 15 of his last 16 games.
The quote
"That whole team over there is pretty solid in just about every facet. If you have an opportunity, you need to seize it, otherwise you're probably not going to win that game." -- Sox catcher Tyler Flowers on his team taking advantage of a Royals error in the sixth.
