BRIEF: What time do the Orange Bowl and Cotton Bowl begin?

Dec. 31--The national college football playoff semifinals are today, with the top four teams competing to determine who will play for the national title on Jan. 11.

In the first semifinal, the Orange Bowl in Miami, the No. 1-ranked Clemson Tigers take on the No. 4 Oklahoma Sooners at 1 p.m. PST on ESPN. Oklahoma is a four-point favorite despite taking on an undefeated Clemson team.

In the other semifinal, the Cotton Bowl in Arlington, Texas, the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide take on the No. 3 Michigan State Spartans at 5 p.m. PST on ESPN. Alabama is a 10-point favorite.

Alabama is seeking its fourth title since the current BCS playoff format was adopted before the 2006-07 season. Michigan State, Oklahoma and Clemson are all seeking their first title in the current format.

The winners of the semifinals will meet in the national championship game, to be played in Glendale, Ariz., on Jan. 11 at 5:30 p.m. PST, also on ESPN.
