BRIEF: What the devil! Here's a cool bicycle tour of Tasmania

Oct. 13--Cyclists looking for an off-the-beaten-track destination might want to consider Australia's island state of Tasmania. Ride Seek, based in Sydney, Australia, is offering an eight-day, seven-night excursion that will take riders through national parks, mountain ranges and high-altitude lakes.

Along the way there are opportunities for wildlife viewing of Tasmanian devils, platypus, wombats and more. Highlights include visits to the ruins of the Port Arthur prison, a notorious Australian penal colony, and the recently opened Museum of the Old and New.

Dates: Feb. 20-27
