DeMarco Murray, Eagles reportedly near $42-million deal

March 12--DeMarco Murray is visiting the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday with a financial agreement already in place, according to multiple media reports.

ESPN was the first to report the visit and the financial terms, which are said to be $42 million over five years, with $21 million in guarantees if Murray ends up signing with the Eagles.

NFL.com said early Thursday morning that there was a sense within the league that Murray's preference was to remain in Dallas, where he has played all four of his pro seasons, and that the 2014 rushing champ was using free agency as leverage for a more lucrative contract with the Cowboys.

But by later in the day, the website seemed to agree with ESPN's Adam Schefter, who was the first to report that Murray was "going to Philadelphia with the intent to sign" but that he'd be willing to listen to a better offer from Dallas.

Some analysts suggested that the Eagles would have an edge after trading for former St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford, a good friend and former Oklahoma teammate of Murray's.

But surely Murray has plenty of friends with the Cowboys as well, so who knows which team he will end up choosing.

Oh, yeah, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders are supposedly in the mix too, but really?
