BRIEF: West Garfield Park crash kills woman, 23

Jan. 17--A 23-year-old woman has died after a car crash early Saturday on the West Side.

Brianna Lindsey, 23, of the 500 block of North Pine Street, was pronounced dead at 9:24 a.m. Saturday at Stroger Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Lindsey was driving east in the 4400 block of Harrison Street in the city's West Garfield Park neighborhood when she lost control of the car and hit a building, according to police.

Lindsey and a 22-year-old female passenger were initially taken in critical condition to Stroger, but Lindsey died there.

Another passenger, a 25-year-old man, was also injured, but his condition had stabilized at Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

The Major Accident Investigation Unit is handling the crash.

An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.
