BRIEF: West Chicago road re-opens after train-vehicle crash; Metra delayed

Nov. 07--High Lake Road from Sunset Avenue to Main Street just outside of West Chicago is open again after a freight train and vehicle crash closed the road Thursday afternoon.

DuPage County sheriff's police said there were no injuries reported, police said.

Metra passengers could expect delays of 30 to 85 minutes Thursday afternoon, spokesman Tom Miller said.

The road was closed for about two hours, and Metra trains on the Union Pacific West line were halted for more than an hour. The road re-opened at 2:30 p.m., police said.

Trains were running again by 2 p.m., Miller said.
