BRIEF: Wednesday's recap: White Sox 6, Padres 1

March 24--Avisail Garcia was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs to help the White Sox top the Padres 6-1 Wednesday at Camelback Ranch. Garcia has three homers and a team-leading 14 RBIs this spring.

At the plate: Brett Lawrie and Garcia each had RBI singles in the Sox's two-run fifth inning against Padres pitcher Casey Janssen.

On the mound: John Danks gave up seven hits over six scoreless innings, with a walk and six strikeouts. Closer David Robertson pitched a scoreless inning.

In the field: Matt Davidson missed a catch for an error while subbing at first base in the seventh inning.

Injury update: Jose Abreu had a scheduled day off after twice fouling pitches off his foot. He said his foot feels fine.

The quote: "More than anything, I was just trying to carry over the last start into this one and try to feel the same things. The goal is to put myself in a position that is as consistent as possible, and it starts with the mechanics. We're definitely comfortable with it at this point." -- Danks

Up next: Vs. Angels, 3:05 p.m. Thursday. RH Matt Shoemaker vs. LH Chris Sale.
