BRIEF: Wednesday's recap: A's 12, White Sox 3

March 10--White Sox pitchers gave up at least one run in each of the first seven innings as Sonny Gray and the A's bullpen shut them down in a 12-3 loss at Camelback Ranch. They wound up with six hits as the A's snapped their four-game winning streak.

At the plate

Avisail Garcia drove in a run in the second.

On the mound

Starter Jacob Turner, competing for a rotation spot, allowed five runs on six hits and two walks in 2 2/3 innings. Sox pitchers yielded 19 hits.

Off the field

Chris Sale threw five innings in a simulated game, and likely will throw one more before making a Cactus League start.

Key number

1984: Before the loss, the 4-1-1 start was the Sox's best since they went 5-1 in 19984.

The quote

"You guys might not see it but there is something different about this spring, a lot more energy and positivity. There's just something. And I think it's showing." -- Chris Sale.
