BRIEF: Wednesday's matchup: Northern Illinois at Buffalo

Nov. 11--TV/radio: 7 p.m. Tuesday; ESPNU, WIND-AM 560.

Line: NIU by 6.

Records: Northern Illinois (6-3, 4-1 MAC), Buffalo (5-4, 3-2).

Last meeting: Northern Illinois 45, Buffalo 3 on Oct. 13, 2012 at Huskie Stadium.

On the offensive: WR Kenny Golladay had two key plays last Wednesday against Toledo -- a spectacular one-handed grab on a 7-yard touchdown pass and a 40-yard reception that helped set up the game winner.

Getting defensive: The Huskies lead the MAC and are tied for sixth nationally with 14 interceptions. DB Shawun Lurry remains second in the country with seven.

The number: 9. The Huskies seek their ninth straight victory in the 10-game series. The Bulls' only victory came in 1968, a 20-7 decision in DeKalb.

The talk: In this year's graduation report released last week, NIU ranked first in the MAC and 11th in the nation among all FBS programs with an 86 percent mark. Among in-state schools, NIU trails only Northwestern (97 percent).

Jack McCarthy's pick: Even with a new starting quarterback with Ryan Graham in for the injured Drew Hare, the Huskies should stay on track offensively.

Northern Illinois 42, Buffalo 21.
