May 15--Tim Howard's Premier League career with Everton ended Sunday to a standing ovation and chants of "U-S-A, U-S-A," following his 133rd career shutout in 414 appearances for The Blues.
"I expected nothing less," said Howard, addressing the crowd after Everton's 3-0 win over Norwich City in its Premier League finale. "You guys have given me the privilege and honor to play for this club since 2006. It's become my life."
Howard, 37, will be joining Major League Soccer's Colorado Rapids in July when the transfer window opens after spending 13 years in the Premier League with Manchester United and Everton.
"I'm leaving tomorrow, but this will always be my home," Howard said. "It's been a place I've grown up, I love each and every one of you I truly do."
He also took the time to write his final goodbye to the club before the game on Twitter.
Howard last played in the MLS from 1998-2002 with the Metrostars, now known as the New York Red Bulls.
Howard has made 107 appearances with the U.S. Men's National Team and was The Yanks' starting keeper for the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.
