April 15--South Side native Common is a hip-hop artist and an actor but the job that brings back some of the best memories was his time working as a ball boy for the Bulls when Michael Jordan joined the team in the mid-1980s.
"I used to get (Jordan's) gym shoes and everything. That was my buddy when I was a ball boy," Common said during Friday's episode of "Live with Kelly and Michael." "It was an incredible job. People in my neighborhood loved me because I would get the gym shoes, I actually would sell them."

Common, 44, said he didn't get in trouble for selling the shoes, but said an acquaintance offered him $5 for Jordan's autograph. Common said Jordan told him to sign the paper instead.
"So I signed it and I took it back to him and I spelled 'Michael' wrong, so the guy was like, 'Well, this is not Michael Jordan,'" Common recalled.
Common's new movie, the Chicago-set "Barbershop: The Next Cut," hit theaters Friday.
"Live with Kelly and Michael" airs 9 a.m. weekdays on WLS-Ch. 7.
