BRIEF: Watch Keke Palmer, Jon Connor perform Flint song on 'Nightly Show'

March 03--Rapper Jon Connor and "Scream Queens" star Keke Palmer performed their track "Fresh Water for Flint" in Wednesday's episode of "The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore" to raise awareness about the Michigan city's water crisis.

"We're going through a situation where there's actually poison in the water and we've experienced death because of it," said Connor, who hails from Flint. "My job as an artist is to help put a face to what ya'll read in the headlines."

Images of Flint were shown behind Connor and Palmer, who grew up in south suburban Robbins, during their performance.

On Sunday, Chicago comedian Hannibal Buress hosted a "Justice for Flint" benefit that raised about $156,000 for residents affected by lead-contaminated water, according to media reports. Flint switched its water source from treated Detroit water to the Flint River in 2014 to save money.

"The Nightly Show" airs 10:30 p.m. weeknights on Comedy Central.
