BRIEF: Watch Horatio Sanz's 'El Chapo' impression on 'Late Night'

Jan. 15--Forget Sean Penn. "Late Night" host Seth Meyers scored an interview with drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman Thursday.

Or rather, Meyers scored an interview with West-Side-raised comedian Horatio Sanz playing Guzman, who was located last week by authorities in Mexico.

"After my interview with Sean Penn, I started thinking I should do more press, you know, promote my projects, tell anecdotes, you know, wear fun shirts to let people know that I'm not a bad guy," Sanz says as he wears a floral shirt reminiscent of the paisley shirt Guzman wore when he met with Penn for his controversial Rolling Stone magazine interview last year.

Sanz said when his lawyer was trying to set up the interview with Penn, he listed Penn's movies but Sanz said he had not seen any of them. So he started to list his favorite movies.

"Was he in 'Space Jams?,'" Sanz recalled asking his lawyer about former Bulls player Michael Jordan's 1996 movie.

Meyers, who attended Northwestern University, barely keeps a straight face in the interview, which is interrupted when police storm the stage looking for Guzman.

"Late Night with Seth Meyers" airs weeknights on NBC at 11:35 p.m.
