Oct. 05--Countless NBA players have been posterized by Blake Griffin's monster jams.
Griffin's latest victim: A shot clock in Vancouver, Canada.
During warmups before an exhibition against the Toronto Raptors in Vancouver on Sunday, Griffin threw the ball off of the backboard, then caught the ball and slam dunked it with both hands. The force of the jam from the 6-foot-10, 251-pound power forward was apparently so powerful that the shot clock dislodged and fell backwards, choosing to run for the hills instead of sticking around to see what else Griffin would do during the game.
After the Clippers' 93-73 loss to the Raptors, Griffin explained that the shot clock had been loosened by both him and Cole Aldrich. He said a screw had hit him in the face after he grabbed the rim before the dunk that took down the shot clock. Griffin said Aldrich also knocked out a screw.
"I guess we just kind of loosened it up by committee," Griffin said.
