BRIEF: Watch: Antoine Vermette wins Game 4 in second overtime

May 24--Antoine Vermette shook off his disappointment over being a healthy Game 3 scratch, scoring the winning goal in double overtime of Game 4 on Saturday as the Blackhawks rallied to beat the Ducks 5-4 and even their best-of-seven Western Conference final at two games apiece.

Vermette was in the right spot at the right time 5 minutes and 37 seconds into the second extra session, when a rebound of his own shot landed on his stick and he fired it past Ducks goaltender Frederik Andersen.

"We tried a few attempts on that shift," Vermette said. "We stuck with it. Lucky enough, we got it back and put it in."

Before the game, Vermette had expressed unhappiness over being benched for Game 3, which the Blackhawks lost 2-1. But Vermette, 32, didn't want to dwell on that afterward.

"This time of year you don't want to make an individual story," Vermette said. "The main focus is about the team's success. That's all that matters, so I'm glad we won tonight."
