March 20--A man or boy was seriously injured in a shooting in an Elgin home Sunday morning, police said.
Police went to a home in the 700 block of Wing Street at 6:49 p.m. when a person called 911 and reported someone was shot inside a home, police said in a news release Sunday morning.
When officers arrived, they found a male victim who had been involved in what may have been a fight in the home when he was shot.
Police would not release information on the age of the victim.
The victim suffered a "life-threatening gunshot wound" and was taken to Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin for treatment, according to the release.
Police were not releasing any further information on the incident.
