BRIEF: Veterans Day freebies: Pancakes, pizza and more

Nov. 11--In honor of Veterans Day, businesses around the nation are offering free food, drinks and discounted goods to service members.

The offerings include a complimentary entr饠at California Pizza Kitchen, free red, white and blue pancakes at IHOP and discounted items at Barnes Noble, JCPenney and other retailers.

The deals require proof of military service. Former and current service members can usually wear their uniforms or bring a form of identification that shows they served in the armed forces.

Sometimes, deals extend to family members as well.

The website military.com has compiled a list of Veterans Day deals here.
