May 20--Andre De Grasse of USC was voted the Pac-12 Conference men's track and field athlete of the year, and Trojans Coach Caryl Gilbert Smith was selected women's and men's coach of the year, the conference announced Thursday.

De Grasse, a junior from Canada, won the 100- and 200-meter events at the last weekend's conference championship meet at UCLA's Drake Stadium. He also ran a leg of USC's winning 400-meter relay.

De Grasse's time of 9.97 seconds in the 100 set a USC and stadium record.

USC's Marquis Morris, from Pittsburg, Calif., was selected men's freshman of the year. He won the conference title in the 110-meter high hurdles in 13.95 seconds.

Smith Gilbert led both the USC men's and women's teams to second-place finishes in the Pac-12 championships.

USC women are ranked second, the men sixth going into the NCAA regionals May 28-30 at Austin, Texas.

The NCAA championships will be held June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore.
