High school: Masina recorded 10 sacks and intercepted a pass and also played running back and scored 10 touchdowns during his senior season.
USC linebacker breakdown: Senior Anthony Sarao and junior Su'a Cravens are the top returning players in a position group that is expected to be bolstered by the return of senior Lamar Dawson and junior Jabari Ruffin from knee injuries. Masina and fellow freshmen Porter Gustin, Cameron Smith and John Houston Jr. will push Scott Felix, Michael Hutchings, Quinton Powell, Olajuwon Tucker and, possibly, Uchenna Nwosu.
Season prediction for Masina: Could work his way into a major role on defense.
