BRIEF: UPDATE: Toddler found alone on South Side has been identified

May 08--A toddler who was found alone in a South Side parking lot has been identifed and his guardian and state child welfare authorities are at a hospital with the boy Saturday evening.

The boy was identified by his guardian, who came to a South Side hospital where the boy was being cared for Saturday afternoon, said Police News Affairs Officer Kevin Quaid.

Though a representative from the Department of Children and Family Services is also now at the hospital investigating, foul play is not suspected, said Quaid.

The boy, who is 18-36 months old and 3-feet tall, was found Saturday at 2259 E. 95th St. in a parking lot wearing a blue and white short sleeved t-shirt and a diaper, according to a statement from Area South detectives.

The boy, who is in good health, has medium brown skin, weighs 36 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair, the statement said.
