BRIEF: Up next for the Kings: Thursday at Montreal

Dec. 17--When: 4:30 p.m. PST

On the air: TV: FS West; Radio: 790.

Update: The Kings, 2-1-1 on this six-game trip, spent two days at the Mont Tremblant resort and took a bus to Montreal after practice Wednesday. Coach Darryl Sutter, who used seven defensemen and 11 forwards in the team's 5-3 loss Monday at Ottawa, said his preference would be to use four lines and six defensemen at Montreal "if we're OK health-wise." He used the unusual configuration because of concerns about defenseman Christian Ehrhoff playing three games in four days and because he thought Jordan Weal might struggle against Ottawa's bigger players. The Canadiens, who are without goaltender Carey Price (lower-body injury), have lost five of their last six games, including a 3-1 home loss to San Jose on Tuesday. Center Trevor Lewis, who has been sidelined by an unspecified upper-body injury, traveled to Montreal on Wednesday to meet the team.
