BRIEF: Up next for Galaxy: Friday against San Jose

July 17--GALAXY vs. EARTHQUAKES

When: 8 p.m., Friday

Where: StubHub Center.

On the air: TV: UniMas; Radio: 980, 1330.

Update: The Galaxy's Steven Gerrard makes his long-awaited MLS debut Friday after 45-minute warm-up appearances in a friendly against Mexico's Club America and against Real Salt Lake in the U.S. Open Cup. Both teams will be missing key players to the CONCACAF Gold Cup: the Galaxy's Gyasi Zardes, Omar Gonzalez and Alan Gordon are with San Jose's Chris Wondolowski on the U.S. team, while Galaxy keeper Jaime Penedo is playing for Panama and Earthquake defender Cordell Cato is with Trinidad Tobago. The Galaxy has lost just one of 11 home MLS games this season and has scored 15 goals in its last four league matches. The most recent loss came to the Earthquakes, but San Jose has lost both its MLS games since then and hasn't scored in 198 minutes.
