March 18--Members of the Association of Flight Attendants, which represents 24,000 United employees, picketed outside the airline's Willis Tower headquarters Thursday with signs that read, "Let Oscar do his job."
The group was out in support of Chief Executive Oscar Munoz. Union president Sara Nelson has said Munoz has a vision "that passengers and employees can believe in."
The flight attendants are among several labor groups, including Teamsters-represented mechanics, that have fought with United since its 2010 merger with Continental.
The airline remains in federal mediation with the flight attendants union to negotiate a joint contract. In January, pilots approved a two-year contract extension. And last month, the airline reached a tentative agreement with the dispatchers union on a contract extension through the end of 2021.
