Oct. 09--South Side native Ron Funches plays an insecure guy on the NBC show "Undateable," but in real life, the comedian has found love through the dating app Tinder.
Funches, who grew up in the Woodlawn neighborhood before moving to Oregon, told People magazine he met his girlfriend on Tinder and imparted some dating advice.
"I think for me, it's just been about being confident in myself and just being happy with who I am and that you don't have to just chase every girl that looks good, you know, because sometimes they're not a good match for you and then you end up like (expletive) your ears when you didn't want to or wearing a jacket that you shouldn't wear because it's not your style," Funches said in a video posted online Friday.
The third season of "Undateable," which is filmed live, premieres Friday at 7 p.m. Funches, 32, who has appeared on "@midnight" and the "Kroll Show," is scheduled to perform at Zanies clubs in the Chicago area Dec. 29-31.
