Nov. 11--UCLA picked up two local recruits and USC added one on the first morning of college basketball's early signing period.
UCLA announced that Ike Anigbogu of Corona Centennial has signed a national letter of intent. Kobe Paras, a three-star wing from Middlebrooks Academy who played last season at Los Angeles Cathedral High, also tweeted that he is "officially a Bruin."
Both had previously given verbal commitments to UCLA.
The Bruins have another big name set to sign on Thursday: Chino Hills point guard Lonzo Ball, who is considered by most recruiting services to be among the best players in his class.
UCLA listed Anigbogu, who was rated a four-star recruit by all major scouting services, as a center at 6-foot-10 and 240 pounds. Josh Gershon, a recruiting analyst for Scout.com, tweeted, "Love what Anigbogu is going to be for #UCLA. 6-10 elite defender who is improving offensively. High floor ceiling."
For the Trojans, De'Anthony Melton, a three-star guard from Crespi Carmelite High, tweeted a photo of him signing his NLI with USC.
