April 25--For the first time since 2006, 19-time NCAA champion UCLA is back in the NCAA championships for men's volleyball.
Fourth-year Coach John Speraw, hired to return the Bruins to prominence, has his team with the No. 2 seed after receiving an at-large berth to the NCAA championships.
UCLA will play in the national semifinals on May 5 at Penn State against the winner of Ohio State-George Mason.
Brigham Young was given the No. 1 seed and will play the winner of Erskine-Long Beach State. The championship match is May 7 at Penn State.
UCLA is 25-6 this season under Speraw, a former Bruin who trained under legendary Coach Al Scates and won three NCAA titles as head coach at UC Irvine.
