BRIEF: UCLA Coach Jim Mora compares Josh Rosen's first start to Brett Hundley's

Sept. 04--This will be the second time Coach Jim Mora has sent a UCLA quarterback out for his first collegiate start.

Josh Rosen will handle the offense for the Bruins against Virginia on Saturday. In 2012, Brett Hundley made his first start in what became a three-year, record-setting career.

Hundley sat out as a redshirt in 2011. Rosen was playing at Bellflower St. John Bosco High at this time last year.

"I don't believe it makes a difference," Mora said. "Brett hadn't played. He had been on the sidelines. If that makes a difference, I don't know."

On UCLA's first play, Hundley raced 72 yards for a touchdown. He completed 21 of 28 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns in a 49-24 victory over Rice.

What is different to Mora is his own mind-set.

"That was my first time going out there too," Mora said. "As anxious as I was for Brett, I was equally anxious to see how I was going to react and how this team I had never been around was going to react."

On Saturday, Mora said, "I think I know how I'm going to react, and I have a pretty good feel how our team is going to react."
